Greetings from Bend, Oregon and Bend's Big Fat Tour!

You are now officially invited to come ride Bend's Big Fat Tour, October12-14, 2007. This is not a race, but a community ride featuring three days of (lots of) great riding, good food, beer and fun! The 13th annual Big Fat

is a guided and supported end of the season mountain biking tour of classic and undiscovered Central Oregon singletrack. Note, these three days could be the most challenging ride you do all year...or maybe ever!

The rides were put together by Paul Thomasberg with day lengths varying from 20-78 miles. Big Fat riders enjoy cross country singletrack with great views, serious climbing and hoot and hollering downhills. 2007's Big Fat has

new routes including summiting two mountains in the Ochocos, riding a loop around Mt. Bachelor and other great trails such as Flagline, Whoops and North Fork (If you are unfamiliar with these trails, then it is time to come ride in Bend!). The Saturday party is at Deschutes Brewery's brewing facility (read walls lined with cases of beer!) with great food and of course, great beer.

In-depth info can be found at the ride's website: www.bendsbigfattour.com. The website has a breakdown of each day, registration info, FAQ and more.

You were sent this email because we really do want you to come ride this year! Bend has a great biking community and are proud of our trails! In addition, this event raises funds for our local trail alliance and other local biking organizations. This has a been a busy summer for everyone - now it is time to just ride your bike, and we hope you will come to Bend and ride with us!

Cheers,

The Big Fat Bike Members

Epic Poem about Big Fat

Why sign up for this ride of attrition?

Camaraderie, effort, not competition

60 plus miles of sweet single track!

Gnarly sections, be careful don't stack

The sun glistening on snow through the trees

Pace yourself carefully, it's not a breeze

High alpine meadows swift flowing streams

Finish this ride, it'll give you sweet dreams

Your mind gets euphoric after miles of trail

Tunnel vision comes, you're riding a rail

Challenge yourself and settle the score

Heighten your senses like never before

When you get to the park the end is near

Just three more miles to burritos and beer

Train for endurance and get ready to ride

Doing the Epic fills your soul with pride
