Some of you may be aware that Bee Scott (nee Harding) has recently left the CDT Team. Therefore we are now seeking to recruit a new Workplace Cycling Co-ordinator to join the cycling team.

In general the aim of this post is to promote the CDT vision to major employers and developments within the area and to provide general support to the CDT project.

If you are interested in this interesting role please visit www.lancaster.gov.uk/jobs for further information.

HIGH VIZ VEST COMPETITION

The CDT Team invites you to put your artwork in the limelight by designing an image for its new stock of high viz vests.

The competition is open to all ages and one lucky winner will receive a bag of cycling goodies and have their design adorn the back of cycling vests to be issued to local cyclists over the coming months.

As an added bonus, the winner and their friends and family will be invited to have afternoon tea with the mayor followed by a VIP tour of the magnificent Lancaster Town Hall.

So if you’ve got a fabulous idea, or you just want to show off your artistic skills, start getting your ideas down on paper.

All designs should be in black and approximately A4 in size.  High resolution electronic images can be emailed.  Designs should be bold and simple, so that they can be seen from a distance.  Slogans that support the aims of the council’s Cycling Demonstration Town Project are welcomed.  Visit www.celebratingcycling.org for more information.

SG Locks

Nearly half a million bikes were reported stolen in 2005/6 in the UK alone*. Even with all the locks available on the market your bike is never safe locked up outside.   sglocks.co.uk is a specialist company dedicated to alarmed security. Our locks feature a unique alarm system encased by a highly secure strengthened steel body. Should a potential thief tamper with your lock it will emit a 100db alarm.

A usual D-lock will be resistant to attacks varying in time from 1-5 minutes. Our design accomplishes the same task whilst also emitting a high-pitched alarm. This gives our locks the added advantage over other locks: It deters the attacker and alerts others to its presence

Our number one seller Tough stuff was created for bicyclists and is the most secure model to date featuring a 14mm hardened shackle head and a high grade cast steel lock body.

All but impenetrable to hand tools, it will keep your bike safe in the harshest conditions and features our unique semi-circular key.

View these locks and more at sglocks.co.uk with prices starting at £19.99 and FREE First class delivery on everything!
