The workplace travel survey will help us understand not only how people currently get to their place of work but also what barriers exist to the use of other transport modes.
Please help us by completing this survey (by following the link below)

Volunteer Trail Building with the Gisburn Forest Bike Trails Partnership
Our project seeks to increase participation in cycling as a healthy outdoor activity. We will do this by constructing new off-road cycling trails and by running a programme of training courses. The trails will cater for novice and family riders through to expert mountain bikers and will encourage development of skill and fitness. Some of the trails will wind in-between trees to help make the ride more interesting and exciting. These sections can only be created by hand!
You can help us by: identifying the trail alignment on the ground; clearing woody debris and cutting small tree branches to establish the trail corridor; digging and removal of soft top soil; drainage; collection and laying of stone to build trail; compaction of trail surface. Any one who wants to can have a go at riding the section already built and the section that you build.
You get more trail to ride. As well as the trail you and others help build, as part of the project your time and effort helps unlock additional cash funding that enables us to build even more.
We’ll bring tools and equipment for you to use including: bow saws, spades, shovels, mattocks, rake, tamper and wheelbarrow. We’ll work with you, show you what we’re trying to achieve and how to work safely.
You should bring stout shoes, boots or wellingtons – steel toe caps if you have them, wet weather gear, midge repellent and most importantly a packed lunch. We recommend that volunteers wear clothes that they don’t mind getting a bit mucky. Your bike if you want to have a ride after working. We only have rustic toilet facilities on site at the moment. The nearest public toilet is at Slaidburn.
